Intercom system - Madonna Confessions Tour - 2006

The intercom system for the Madonna Confessions tour started out with a combination of Telex BTR800 and HME Pro850 intercom systems, each of which used 6 frequencies.  The already heavy UHF spectrum use for wireless mics and wireless ear monitors along with the intercom approached 90 frequencies which, in today's "whitespace" crowded world, did not work.

Eighth Day Sound, the audio contractor, called Larry Estrin to help.  He replaced the 5 UHF wireless intercom with 3 HME DX200 systems.  Most of the beltpacks were fitted with David Clark high noise headsets with noise cancelling mics.  The system was frequency coordination free, freeing up 30 UHF frequencies and worked without fail across the country.
