Salt Lake City 2002 Paralympics

Do these radios work in freezing rain?  Pete Erskine and Gary Lanzisero during setup.  Gary handled all of the wireless intercom and IFB systems.

During the sunny afternoons, it was hard to keep the ice frozen.  Daytime view of Rice Eccels Stadium showing the spectacular mountains East of Salt Lake City and the Mountain set on the stage.

Bexel Corporation supplied the video equipment for the closing ceremonies.Ed Anderson (center) was the Tape operator. He managed seven Iso and 2 line cut record decks and one playback. Wayne, lower right, was the director.

Lotte World, Seoul Korea - World Carnival Parade

The tent where we initially started our setup was located in a construction site a block away.  It was Cold!  The floats during initial setup, before speakers are mounted.

All of the electronic equipment was installed on site. Most of the speaker wiring was completed in the US.  Rick Massei wires a sound system

JBL MS26 speakers were used as the main speaker in most of the floats.  JBL MS-26 speaker mounted inside Japan float.

The Otari Radar II machines are hard disk based.  Two are used for the parade playback and the third for park wide background music.Pete Erskine and Jang-Hyun Gu, a show engineer for Lotte World, sit in front of the three Otari Radar II playback machines.

 

 

Sydney Olympics

This is a composite of many photographs.  It was taken during a rehearsal.Stadium Australia at twilight

Allison Estrin is sitting behind Larry and the Air Force fly over director is next to him.   Larry Estrin at his command post during the show.

Most of the work in show communications is during rehearsals and before the show.  If everything works well,  very little needs to be done during the show.   Pete Erskine relaxes as the show takes care of its self.

 

 

 

Every one of the 10 light board operators had a 2 channel RTS BP-325 beltpack.  Channel 1 was the stage manager and channel 2 was the lighting designer.  The Clear-Com ICS-92 matrix stations were used for the House light designer, The show Light designer, the Spot light caller and the Light Tech director.  Lighting consoles.   Note the four Clear-Com ICS-92 intercom stations.

Best Audio was the manager of the fiber system for lighting, sound and data in the stadium.  Rowan Goss terminating some of the 267 fiber circuits which Best Audio connected.

The Matrix-Plus 3 system had 72 ports with 10 CCI-22 dual PL interfaces, 6 FOR-22 dual 4-wire interfaces, and 2 TEL-22 dual phone interfaces.  Clear-Com Matrix intercom system designed by Best Audio, Supplied by The PA People

 

 

 

 

 

The computer shows the network status for all of the lighting system nodes.  The lighting system was by Bytecraft Engineering.   Pete standing next to the lighting fiber distribution system.
